If your skin feels a little bit tight, itchy, sore, inflamed or stings easily, you may have sensitive skin. Fortunately, with a little love and care, sensitive skin can be restored. Ask yourself the following questions:
Is your cleanser drying you out?
Cleansers are a common culprit behind skin irritation; many are harsh and dehydrating.
How to fix: Try griffin+row Cleanse instead! Cleanse is unlike many other products you find on the market. It has been specifically formulated to be gentle on the skin and hydrating rather than stripping. Most importantly, people are frequently telling us how effective it is to remove makeup and skin impurities.
How often do you use soap?
Your skin has a natural acid mantle; anything from pH 4.5 – 6.2 is considered normal. This slightly acidic environment is essential in protecting the body from infection and disease. Most soap bars are alkaline, particularly less expensive and mass-produced soaps, which often contain excess free alkali. Soaps will temporarily increase your skin’s pH level, moving it closer to the alkaline range, which may result in a chronically dry skin.
Do you use skincare products that contain fragrance or perfume?
Fragrance was voted the “Allergen of the Year” by the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Fragrance is a generic term and can consist of up to 100 different ingredients. These specific ingredients do not need to be disclosed on the product’s label as they are considered to be ‘trade secrets’. Usually, such ingredients are synthetic and have often been confirmed or suspected of being carcinogenic (cancer-causing) or otherwise bad for your health.
How to fix: Stay away from any product that lists the term “fragrance” or “perfume” on the ingredient label. It goes without saying that we at griffin+row do not use synthetic additives and the aroma of our products is derived from natural essential oils such as fragonia, sandalwood and more.
The griffin+row range has been formulated using centess+complex, a synergistic cocktail of the purest Australian plant extracts known for their antioxidant and regenerative properties.
